About Tail Fur Trims
Our real fox fur hood trims from tail are made from genuine fox or raccoon tail fur.
Tail fur is naturally different from fur cut from the main body pelt. It is not as soft as premium pelt fur, but it is exceptionally dense, thick and voluminous.
Because tail fur is a more budget-friendly material, it is an excellent choice for customers who want the rich, full appearance of a real fur hood trim at a lower price.
Natural fur may vary slightly in shade, texture, density and hair length, making every trim unique.
Single Tail
Single Tail trims are made from one genuine animal tail.
- Length: 70 cm (27.6 in)
- Width by fur: approximately 10 cm (3.9 in)
- Two fabric strips are attached along the leather backing.
- NO LINING
- Additional lining is not necessary because the fabric strips provide a convenient attachment edge.
Single Tail is the lightest and most budget-friendly option while still providing a naturally dense and fluffy appearance.
How to Attach a Zipper to a Single Tail Fur Trim
Single Tail trims are supplied with two fabric strips attached to the leather backing, making them easy to adapt for a detachable zipper attachment.
- Fold the two fabric strips together to create one neat edge.
- Position one half of the zipper along the folded fabric strips.
- Sew the zipper tape securely to the folded strips.
- Sew the second half of the zipper to the edge of your hood, coat or jacket.
- Once both zipper halves are installed, the fur trim can be easily attached or removed whenever needed.
Because the zipper is attached to the fabric strips, additional lining is not necessary for Single Tail trims.
Double Tail
Double Tail creates a wider and fuller fur trim using more tail fur.
- Lengths: 60, 70 and 80 cm
- Width by lining/backing: approximately 6 cm (2.4 in)
- Width by fur: approximately 14–16 cm (5.5–6.3 in)
- WITH LINING only
- Attachment loops are included.
To attach the trim, simply sew matching buttons to your garment.
Double Tail offers a great balance between width, volume and price.
Triple Tail
Triple Tail is designed for customers who want an especially full and dramatic real fur hood trim.
- Width by lining/backing: approximately 7–8 cm (2.8–3.1 in)
- Width by fur: approximately 16–18 cm (6.3–7.1 in)
- WITH LINING only
- Attachment loops are included.
To attach the trim, simply sew matching buttons to your garment.
Triple Tail provides the greatest volume among our traditional tail constructions.
Cubes Tail Fur Trim
Our Cubes Tail Fur Trims are made from cross-cut pieces of genuine tail fur sewn together in a distinctive block-style construction.
- Width by lining/backing: approximately 7 cm (2.8 in)
- Width by fur: approximately 16–18 cm (6.3–7.1 in)
- WITH LINING only
- Attachment loops are included.
To attach the trim, simply sew matching buttons to your garment.
The Cubes construction creates a wide, dense and very full trim with a distinctive appearance.
