With proper care, your real fox or raccoon fur hood trim and fur collar can stay soft, full and beautiful for many years.
Natural fur may become slightly compressed during shipping, wearing or storage. In most cases, its natural shape and volume can be restored easily with gentle care.
How to Restore Fur After Shipping
Your fur hood trim may look slightly flattened or compressed when it arrives. This is normal after packaging and shipping.
To help restore its natural shape and volume, you may gently expose the fur to steam for approximately 1–2 minutes, keeping it at a comfortable distance from the steam.
Avoid soaking the fur or allowing excessive moisture to reach the leather backing.
After steaming, allow the fur to cool and gently fluff it with your fingers.
Once the fur is dry, carefully brush it in the natural direction of the hair using a soft pet grooming brush or comb.
Use light strokes and avoid pulling or aggressive brushing.
This gentle steam-and-brush method can also be used when your fur becomes slightly flattened after storage.
If Your Fur Gets Wet
Light rain or snow will not usually harm natural fur when it is dried properly.
If your real fur trim or fur collar becomes damp:

gently shake off excess moisture;

do not wring, twist or rub the fur;

hang it in a well-ventilated area;

allow it to dry naturally at room temperature.
Keep wet fur away from radiators, heaters, hair dryers and other sources of direct heat.
Once completely dry, gently fluff the fur with your fingers. If necessary, carefully brush it with a soft pet grooming brush or comb.
If the fur becomes very wet or soaked through, we recommend consulting a professional cleaner experienced with natural fur.
Cleaning Your Real Fur Trim
For regular care, natural fur usually does not need frequent washing.
For stains, heavy soiling or deeper cleaning, we recommend using a professional cleaner experienced specifically with natural fur.
Professional fur cleaning helps protect both the fur and the leather backing and is the safest option when your trim requires more than light surface care.
Avoid using household detergents, fabric softeners, stain removers or other cleaning chemicals directly on the fur.
Caring for a Detachable Fur Trim
If your fur trim has lining and attachment loops, always remove it from your jacket, coat or parka before washing the garment.
This protects the natural fur and makes caring for your jacket much easier.
Once the jacket is clean and the fur trim is ready to wear, simply attach the loops back onto the buttons on your hood.
How to Keep Fur Soft and Fluffy
If your fox or raccoon fur trim loses some of its volume after wearing or storage, start by gently shaking and fluffing it with your fingers.
If additional restoration is needed, you can use the gentle steam method:

How to Store Real Fur
Store your real fur hood trim or fur collar in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place.
Whenever possible:

allow the fur to remain loose and uncompressed;

avoid placing heavy clothing on top of it;

do not store it for long periods in a tightly sealed plastic bag;

keep it away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
If your fur trim is detachable, removing it from the jacket during long-term storage can help preserve its natural shape and volume.
Avoid Heat, Perfume and Chemicals
Natural fur should be protected from excessive heat and harsh chemicals.
Avoid spraying perfume, hairspray or household cleaning products directly onto your fur trim or collar.
Perfume, cosmetics and oils are best applied before putting on your jacket so they do not build up on the fur.
